Simplify Resume Review: Live Feedback From an Experienced Recruiter

Simplify’s Resume Review is a one-time session with an experienced recruiter who reviews your resume live and provides detailed, actionable feedback based on your background, experience level, and the roles you're targeting.

Unlike an automated resume checker, Resume Review is a collaborative conversation. Your recruiter will explain what is working, identify areas to improve, and help you make changes based on your experience and the roles you are targeting.

Resume Review is separate from Simplify+ and is available to any Simplify user.

Who Resume Review is for

Resume Review is designed for anyone who wants expert feedback before applying for jobs. It can be especially helpful if you are:

• entering the job market for the first time

• applying for internships or entry-level roles

• changing careers or industries

• applying internationally and learning local resume expectations

• unsure whether your resume clearly communicates your experience

• preparing to apply to a large number of jobs

Many candidates book a review near the beginning of their job search so they can improve their core resume before tailoring it for individual applications.

Who reviews your resume

Each Resume Review is led by a senior recruiter from Simplify’s network of hiring professionals.

Recruiters in our network have experience hiring candidates at companies such as OpenAI, Stripe, Databricks, Instacart, Spotify, and other technology companies and startups. Their backgrounds include reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and helping decide who advances through the hiring process.

This allows them to provide practical feedback based on real recruiting experience rather than generic resume advice.

When booking, you will select your industry and experience level. Simplify uses this information to match you with a recruiter whose experience aligns with your background and target roles.

What happens during a Resume Review

Resume Reviews take place over Google Meet and last approximately 45 minutes.

Your recruiter will review your resume with you in real time. Together, you will discuss what is working, what could be clearer, and why specific changes may improve your resume.

Your session may include:

• edits to wording, structure, and formatting

• recommendations for communicating your impact more clearly

• guidance on resume length, organization, and best practices

• applicant tracking system, or ATS, optimization

• feedback tailored to your industry and experience level

• practical next steps before you begin applying

By the end of the session, you should have direct edits, personalized recommendations, and a clearer understanding of how to improve and tailor your resume throughout your job search.

How do I book a Resume Review?

You can book a session from the Simplify Services page.

Before selecting a time, you will choose:

• Industry: Software Engineering or PM/Business/Finance

• Experience level: Junior, with 1–3 years of experience, or Senior, with 4 or more years of experience

Simplify will use your selections to match you with an appropriate recruiter and show available appointment times.

Sessions are held over Google Meet, and the booking calendar automatically displays times in your local time zone.

Resume Review currently supports Software Engineering and PM/Business/Finance. We plan to add more industries as our recruiter network grows.

How much does Resume Review cost?

Resume Review is a one-time purchase:

• $129 for internship and entry-level resume reviews

• $159 for reviews for more experienced candidates

Each purchase includes one 45-minute live session. Pricing does not vary by industry.

Is Resume Review included with Simplify+?

No. Resume Review and Simplify+ are separate products designed to support different parts of your job search.

Resume Review gives you one-on-one guidance from an experienced recruiter during a live session.

Simplify+ is an ongoing subscription that helps you tailor resumes, create cover letters, answer application questions, and strengthen applications as you apply.

You do not need a Simplify+ subscription to book a Resume Review, and Resume Review is not included in a Simplify+ subscription.
