Use Copilot to autofill applications

Fill supported application fields, review your answers, and submit the application yourself.

Last updated About 2 hours ago

Open a supported job application with Copilot installed and signed in, then choose Autofill this page. Copilot uses your profile and selected documents to fill supported fields. Review the application, complete any remaining questions, and click the employer’s final Submit button yourself.

Fill, review, and submit

  1. Open the employer’s actual application form. Copilot must be installed, enabled, and signed in.

  2. Open the teal Simplify tab at the edge of the page or choose the extension icon.

  3. Check the resume and cover letter selected in the panel. Choose Autofill this page.

  4. Wait for filling to finish. Review each page, correct inaccurate answers, and complete any remaining required fields.

  5. Choose the employer’s final Submit button and check for its confirmation.

After a supported submission is detected, Copilot can add the application to Job Tracker. Check that the job and status appear correctly. Saving a job or seeing “Application filled” is not the same as receiving the employer’s submission confirmation.

Resume selection and tailoring

Copilot can attach your default resume. If you have other saved resumes, use the Resume selector to choose the version for this application before filling the form. Preview it if you are unsure which version is selected.

The keyword panel compares the selected resume with the job description. You can edit your resume manually, or use Simplify+ to create a tailored version in Resume Builder. The broader Resume Score and keyword coverage are Simplify’s feedback, not an employer’s screening result.

Cover letters

If an application accepts a cover letter, Copilot can use your saved letter. Simplify+ can also generate a draft from your profile, resume, and the target job. Open Generate Cover Letter, check the job details, generate, review, and use the result.

Check whether the letter is filled as text or attached as a file on the actual form. If a field is not detected, you can use an appropriate field manually or create and export a letter from Documents.

Common and unique questions

Common fields include contact information, education, work experience, links, work authorization, and demographic answers saved on your profile. A missing value in Profile or a disabled field toggle can leave a form field empty.

Unique questions ask for job-specific answers, such as a project example or why you want the role. Copilot can reuse an answer when the exact same question appears again. Simplify+ can generate a new draft using your background and the job details. Review reused answers for old company names, dates, and other details that may no longer fit.

Multipage applications and settings

With continuous multipage autofill enabled, Copilot continues filling supported pages after you start. With it disabled, start autofill on each page yourself. You still review the completed form and submit it. Continuous autofill is separate from Autopilot, which submits selected applications automatically.

Open the gear icon to change AI-answer settings or exclude individual fields. Turn a field off when you prefer to answer it manually. Changing an autofill toggle does not remove the saved information from your profile.

Unsupported or incorrect fields

First check that you are on the application form, rather than a job description or employer homepage. Reload and reopen Copilot if the page changed after you began. On an unsupported form, use the Profile tab to copy your information manually.

If a supported field fills incorrectly, correct the application before submitting. Update Profile if the source information is wrong, or report the form issue through Report with the page URL and expected result. You can also add the application to Job Tracker manually if submission was not detected.
