Using Copilot to Autofill Applications
Use Copilot to autofill resumes, cover letters, common fields, and saved answers to job-specific questions, then track every application automatically.

TL;DR
Copilot can help with resumes, cover letters, common application fields, and job-specific questions.
The answers you write for unique questions are saved and reused when the exact same question appears again.
Even on unsupported application pages, you can still use Copilot to quickly copy information from your profile into the application manually.
After you apply, Copilot adds the application to your Job Tracker automatically.

How to Autofill a Job Application
Open a supported job application page.
Open Copilot from your browser toolbar.
Review the sections available for the application: Resume, Cover Letter, Common Questions, and Unique Questions.
Click the autofill button to begin filling the application.
Review the completed application, make any edits you want, and submit the application yourself.
π‘ Tip: After submission, Copilot can automatically add the job to your Job Tracker with the application details already filled in. That keeps your search organized without needing to manually log every application afterward.
What Copilot Can Fill
Resume
Copilot can upload your default resume directly into the application's resume field.
If you have multiple resumes saved in Simplify, you can switch between them through the Resume section before filling.
Copilot can also compare your resume against the job description and highlight:
matching keywords
missing skills or terms
areas where your resume may not align closely with the role
You can use these insights to manually update your resume or auto-generate a more tailored version in the Resume Builder before applying. To learn how to tailor your resume with Copilot: Auto-tailoring your resume with Copilot
Cover Letter
If the application includes a cover letter field, Copilot can attach your default cover letter.
With Simplify+, Copilot can also generate a tailored cover letter directly from the application page using both the job description and your Simplify profile for context.
Because Copilot already has access to the role you're applying to, you do not need to copy and paste the job description into a separate tool or start from scratch for every application. Instead, you can generate a draft inside Copilot, review it, make any edits you want, and submit the final version yourself.

Common Questions
Copilot can usually fill standard application fields like:
Contact information
Education
Work experience
Work authorization
Demographic questions
Links and portfolio information
These are typically the most consistent fields across application systems, which is why they tend to autofill most reliably.
Unique Questions
Some applications include role-specific questions like:
"Why do you want to work here?"
"Describe a project you're proud of."
"Why are you interested in this role?"
If you answer one of these questions manually, Copilot saves your response.
When the exact same question appears again in a future application, Copilot can reuse your saved answer automatically.
This helps reduce repeated writing across applications while still keeping you in control of what gets submitted. On how Copilot saves your responses: Answering essay questions with Copilot
What Happens on Unsupported Application Pages
Some application pages do not support direct autofill yet.
You can still use Copilot while completing the application manually.
The Profile tab inside Copilot gives you quick access to information already stored in your Simplify profile, including:
Work experience
Education
Skills
Contact information
Personal links
Resume bullet points
You can quickly copy information from your profile and paste it into the application as needed.
π Remember: Even when a page cannot support direct autofill, your profile is still useful.
Why Completing Your Profile Matters
Copilot works best when your Simplify Profile is current and complete.
A stronger profile gives Simplify more context for:
autofill accuracy
job matches
tailored resumes
recruiter recommendations if you choose to enable recruiter visibility
tracking your applications consistently across the platform
Copilot works best when your profile has enough up-to-date information to understand your experience, preferences, and application history. Keeping your profile updated helps Copilot fill application fields more accurately and keeps your information consistent across different applications and job sites.
